What does the academic summer program at Wasatch Academy look like? Students participate in interactive learning from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in small classrooms, receiving personalized learning and attention from summer school faculty. Students can enroll in academic courses and earn up to three full semester credits at the end of the six-week program.
What’s the best part of attending Wasatch Academy during the summer? The extracurricular activities in the afternoon are exemplary. Take the rest of the afternoon off after classes and enjoy world-class rock climbing a mere 15 minutes away, learn western horseback riding in our equestrian center, or choose from dozens of other activities like art and music that let you explore or create.
Does your student want to take advantage of summer school without missing out on summer fun? They can participate in our slip-n-slide kickball games, tie-dye activities, impromptu dance parties, trips to the pool, or a wide range of other afternoon games and activities we plan just for the summer season. When the weekend rolls around, students can also enjoy camping in any one of Utah’s famous national parks, trips to local rodeos or fairs, visiting amusement parks, or going shopping and seeing a movie in Salt Lake City with their friends. We visit a great water park there, too.
If you want to give your child a taste of boarding school life before they fully commit, they can join our Summer Dash program. The Wasatch Academy Summer Dash program allows students to participate in the same great courses and activities, where they can create a class schedule specifically designed for their needs and interests. It will allow them to get a taste of the campus culture and lifestyle of being a Wasatch student before enrolling full-time for the school year.
