Tigers improve to 7-1 after win over East High School

The Wasatch Academy Tigers returned home with nothing but victory on their mind. The Tigers battled the East High Panthers with a strong defense and finished the game 59 -50.

The Tigers entered the game scoring 9 points immediately with many takeaways in the first half. The Tigers ended the second quarter with Senior Damion Squire making a 3-point buzzer beater to put the game into the half, 32 to 18.

The Panthers returned the second half ambitious to take the lead from the Tigers. The Tigers played with a strong defense keeping the Panthers away from the hoop.

With just 40 seconds left on the clock, the Panthers secured 6 points bringing the game to a close finish. The Tigers fought back with Senior Matt Bradley scoring a nice 3 pointer with just 10 seconds on the clock.

“This game was a good learning experience for the team. It showed the players that even if the ball is not going in, a strong defense can still win the game,” remarks Head Coach Curtis Condie.

The Tigers will head to the Ed Baker San Fernando Valley Invitational Tournament next where they will take on the nationally ranked team Chatsworth.
