Mitzi grew up near and attended college in the Black Hills of South Dakota where she worked for the United States Forest Service for several years. In fact, she met her husband, Luke, on a wildfire in the mountains of central Idaho. 

Mitzi first joined the Wasatch Academy community in October of 2000 and called Sanpete Valley home for seventeen years. She returned to Utah after serving as the college counselor and academic program director at an independent college preparatory school in eastern Iowa. As a college counselor, Mitzi is passionate about guiding students towards the goal of finding the college or university best suited for their future.

At home in the West, Mitzi enjoys hiking and camping with her family, native archeology, and slaying dragons on Thursday nights.
