Wasatch Academy has been my second home for the past four years — there’s nowhere like it in the whole world. Wasatch Academy has helped me tap into my gifts by giving me a higher level of self-confidence.
As a smaller school, I’m able to have quality, one-on-one time with teachers and peers. As each year goes by, it’s become easier to challenge myself and accomplish many of the things I’ve set my mind to.
I came here from Afghanistan and had just escaped becoming a child bride. Wasatch Academy is the first place I ever felt safe in my life. Wasatch Academy is not just a school, and Joe Loftin is not just a headmaster — he works very hard to make Wasatch Academy a home for us.
It is my life’s work to help stop child marriage, and Mr. Loftin understands how important this is to me. It is a great feeling to know that I have a supporter in education and also in life.
Wasatch Academy has inspired me to explore new boundaries, challenge myself both academically and physically and broaden my worldview. Coming to Wasatch Academy has allowed me to experience other cultures from around the globe, which is something that I never would have been able to do at my high school at home. As a result, I feel as though I have a better understanding of the different cultures around the world and more respect for these cultures.
Wasatch Academy has pushed me to exceed my expectations, specifically with mountain biking. The teachers and coaches at Wasatch Academy have really encouraged me to improve and grow in my passions — whether they're academic, personal or athletic.
Wasath Academy has given me a lot of opportunities to try new things. I never thought about being a cheerleader before I got here, and I've been able to take a lot of interesting classes like 3D design, golf and so on. Those courses opened my eyes and enriched my knowledge in many ways. I knew I liked Art and I have been doing it for years before I got here.
Wasatch Academy has educated me not only inside the class, but outside of class, as well. I've learned so much more than what's in a textbook; I've learned how to deal with things in life and now feel prepared to go to college.
As a basketball player, Wasatch Academy has taught me how to recognize my aspirations and pursue what it takes to become a great player.
The result of Wasatch Academy’s preparation both on and off the court is the reason why I’m able to play Division 1 basketball — on a full scholarship. The resources at Wasatch Academy have become lifetime resources that will help me get to the next stage in life, no matter where I’m at presently.
Wasatch Academy has helped me get closer to getting into my dream college while allowing me to form a rare, one-of-a-kind international family whom I can contact anytime and anywhere.
The Wasatch Academy experience has allowed me to make the globe my home; no matter where I travel, I will know someone. Additionally, the students and teachers at Wasatch Academy truly care about each other, and have always helped me feel secure and confident in my environment.
At Wasatch Academy, I continually do things that I’ve never done before and activities that I couldn’t do anywhere else. Wasatch Academy is so much more than just a high school — all the people here see life so differently because of their diverse backgrounds.
Meeting so many new people from different cultures changed my perspective in so many positive ways. I feel so much more prepared for the remainder of my high school experience when I return home to Germany.
Wasatch Academy means a lot to me. It is my second home where I feel cared for and loved by my family through every situation and mood. Wasatch Academy is a place of love, friendship and a den for our tiger family.
Wasatch Academy has turned my weaknesses into strengths and given me a space to explore my passions. For example, I love playing basketball but I am not a good player. But Wasatch Academy saw my eagerness to learn and helped me find my skills and talents. They helped me be a better player, and most importantly, a better person.
I’m a dancer and an engineer, and coming to Wasatch Academy has given me the opportunity to excel at what I like to do. Wasatch Academy has helped me grow within the arts, track and science classes that I enjoy on a daily basis.
For me, Wasatch Academy is a place where people from all different cultures and backgrounds unite together. The friendships created at Wasatch Academy will someday help create better relations elsewhere all around the world.
