Wasatch Academy’s reach extends both locally and internationally, with more than 20 countries represented in our highly diverse student body.

Our students draw unique insight from discussions and discoveries made alongside their peers who embody a mosaic of distinct cultural backgrounds and experiences. 

Wasatch Academy partners with schools across the world to offer dual diplomas, exchanges, and collaborations. We participate in service trips and international student exchange programs to provide opportunities for students and faculty to cultivate their orientation as global citizens and lifelong scholars. 

Dual Diploma Program

Since 2009, Wasatch Academy has collaborated with quality international education institutions to advise, consult and provide opportunities for students to study under the Wasatch Academy model. Focused on student centered approaches to learning, we engage in student and teacher exchanges, dual diploma programs and 2+1 study opportunities.

Our Partner Institutions

  • A new school in an emerging development area, Beijing Etown Academy is a part of Beijing National Day School’s education group. Aiming to pioneer Chinese basic education reform, Etown focuses on authentic teaching and learning through a modern approach to higher-order thinking skill development. Wasatch Academy has collaborated with Etown to assist with the mentoring and development of the individual learner.

  • Beijing Futurecity Academy is a part of Beijing National Day School’s education group. It was established in 2019, the same year it began a dual diploma program with Wasatch Academy. Futurecity Academy is a K-12 school, and its mission is “Discovering differences and making a difference”. Students experience multiple learning styles in different communities on campus. Students can also receive a Wasatch Academy diploma upon completing three years of coursework delivered under Advanced Placement guidelines by Wasatch Academy-supported faculty and teaching practices.

  • Beijing Haidian Future Academy is an integral part of the Beijing National Day School education group, situated in the thriving educational hub of Haidian District in Beijing, China. In 2023, the school forged a strategic partnership with Wasatch Academy. Functioning as a K12 international school, Beijing Haidian Future Academy employs a transdisciplinary learning model in the elementary phase, interdisciplinary field-based learning in middle school, and subject-based instruction centering on AP courses in high school.

  • In the fall of 2010, Beijing National Day School began a dual diploma program with Wasatch Academy. Students can receive a Wasatch Academy diploma upon completing three years of coursework delivered under Advanced Placement guidelines by Wasatch Academy-supported faculty and teaching practices. Beijing National Day School has a long history of success in promoting international exchange and advancing educational models.

  • In the fall of 2012, Wasatch Academy started its third Chinese dual-diploma program with the Chengdu Shishi High School. Shishi, meaning “stone house,” refers to the original school building in which the institution was founded. Proudly partnered with such a storied institution in China, Wasatch Academy hosted Shishi President Jian Tian in his visit to campus in 2013.

    Shishi students have embraced the Wasatch Academy approach, which encourages collaborative problem-solving and student-teacher interaction. The small class sizes are unique, engaging students with a learning experience uncommon in much larger Chinese classrooms.

  • In 2018, Wasatch Academy partnered with Qidi as an experimental school centered on individual student learning with a focus on international education. QiDi, established in 2015, has steadily built a reputation of providing Chinese students with a personalized and diversified global education with one-stop-shop services. Students can receive a Wasatch Academy diploma upon successful completion of Wasatch Academy-supported courses.

  • Since 2015, Wasatch Academy’s partnership with the High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University has been guided by great students, teachers, and administration. Founded in 1902, The High School is nationally recognized and considered one of the top 10 schools of basic education in China. In a 2016 ranking of Chinese high schools that send students to study in American universities, it ranked number 22 in mainland China in terms of the number of students entering top American universities.

  • Partnering with Kunshan Senior High School of Jiangsu Province, China, this dual diploma collaboration offers eligible Chinese students an opportunity to receive articulated credits toward an American high school graduation diploma. Working with the students of Kunshan Senior High School, Wasatch Academy’s award-winning academic curriculum provides meaningful learning experiences through student partnership, problem-solving, English oral and written communication, and the development of higher-order thinking skills. Poised for longevity and success, this partnership promotes ongoing professional development, student and teacher exchanges, and intuitive program collaboration.

  • In 2013, Wasatch Academy initiated a dual diploma program at the Nanjing Foreign Language School, generally regarded as the best high school in Jiangsu Province and the nation’s oldest foreign language school. The three-year program allows students to receive instruction in English and prepare for AP tests in math, science, and other disciplines in English. The teachers all receive training at Wasatch Academy before the beginning of the school year, as well as professional development seminars throughout the school year.

  • Established in 2020, the Qingdao / Wasatch Academy Dual Diploma Partnership was constructed to enhance and continue the strong development and growth of Sino-American education cooperation. Modeled after Beijing National Day School’s successful pedagogical system and partnership, Qingdao Academy focuses on an open choice curriculum model which allows student expression and ownership of learning. As a non-profit educational institution, Qingdao academy prides itself in putting the student experience first, by operating a school that communicates and connects with the greater world. Wasatch Academy is excited to be partnered with Qingdao Academy where the best of both institutions’ approaches to student development are on display. Students learn in English, enjoy small classes, are able to supplement their learning with 15 AP course offerings, and prepare themselves for higher education studies in the U.S. and around the world.

  • On June 17, 2009, the Chinese Ministry of Education granted the first license in the nation’s history for the cooperation of Wasatch Academy and Ruian High School. Through a dual diploma program, students learn through a curriculum tailored for Advanced Placement level courses taught by Wasatch Academy-supported educators. Completion leads to a dual diploma for those who complete the three-year curriculum, and students from Ruian High School also have the opportunity to visit Wasatch Academy for summer programs.
